Virtual Mail Hub staffed mail room on Broadway in NoMad, Manhattan

A Broadway address in NoMad, in a facility we run ourselves

NoMad is where the city keeps its tech, design, and media companies, and the address reads that way on a pitch deck. Most virtual mailbox brands rent a New York address from a third-party franchise desk. We do not. Virtual Mail Hub operates its own mail center on Broadway, north of Madison Square Park, which means consistent handling, tighter security, and an address with real commercial standing behind it.

This building is also where our New York Verify suites are: genuinely leased office space that puts your company on a commercial lease with a utility account in its own name. Mailbox customers get a PMB address; Verify customers get a suite number, because there is a real suite. We never write one for the other.

  • Broadway, NoMad, our own staffed mail center, not a franchise desk
  • Same-day exterior scan, content scan within 6 business hours
  • Home of our New York Verify suites: a real lease and utility bill when proof matters
  • Mailbox addresses in PMB format; suite numbers only on a genuinely leased office

Who uses a NoMad virtual office

Three kinds of company put a NoMad address on the letterhead. Each starts on a different plan, and this is the New York address where the ladder goes all the way up.

Verify: real office lease

International founder building a US HQ

“Investors want a credible New York address, and the bank wants a lease and a utility bill it can actually check.”

The Verify plan puts your company on a genuine commercial lease in this building, with a utility bill in its own name, a New York registered agent included, and an account manager who introduces you to the property.

Mailbox Advanced

Consultant or boutique agency

“I want a Manhattan address on my proposals and thirty items a month handled without thinking about it.”

Advanced gives you the Broadway address, 30 included items a month, same-day photographs and six-hour content scans, and a fixed price with no per-action surprises.

Address Only → Mailbox Volume

Solo professional or startup pre-launch

“I need a New York business address for the filing and the website, and the mail is light for now.”

Address Only starts at $22.99 a month for light mail. Move to Volume when client documents, bank letters, and vendor mail add up to more than a few items a month.

Good questions before you launch.

Address, mail, and compliance can feel complicated from the outside. VMH keeps the process visible and manageable.

Yes. Your address is a real, staffed mail facility on Broadway in the NoMad district of Manhattan, north of Madison Square Park, run by Virtual Mail Hub and registered with USPS as a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency. It is a street address with a PMB number, not a PO box and not a rented franchise desk.

The longer answers on a New York City virtual office

Rules checked September 2026

What is a New York City virtual office, and how is it different from a virtual address?

A New York City virtual office is a Manhattan business address plus the services that make it usable as a company’s base: mail received and scanned, a registered agent, and the option of real office space when you need it. A virtual address is the first of those things on its own.

At our NoMad location the two sit in the same building. The mailbox plans give you a Broadway address with a PMB number, same-day photographs of every item, and content scans within six business hours. The Verify plan goes further: your company is placed on a genuine commercial office lease in the building, with a utility account in its own name, a New York registered agent, and a lobby listing.

The distinction matters because banks and platforms treat the two differently. A mailbox is a mailing address. A leased suite is premises. If what you need is a credible address for clients and filings, the virtual address does it. If what you need is documents that show where the company sits, that is the virtual office with the lease, and in New York it is sold here.

What documents does a New York bank actually want for proof of business address?

Almost always one of two things in the company’s name: a signed commercial lease, or a recent utility bill for the premises. Some institutions accept either; the stricter ones want both. That is a Know Your Customer requirement under federal rules, and every bank applies it under its own written policy.

A virtual mailbox does not produce either document, at any provider, because a mailbox is not premises. What it produces is a real street address with a PMB number, which is enough for state filings, invoices, and most vendor onboarding, and is not enough for a bank that has asked for a lease.

The Verify plan at NoMad is built to close exactly that gap: a genuine lease in this building and a utility bill from an account opened in your company’s name, with an account manager who introduces you to the property. What we will not do is tell you a named bank will accept it. Acceptance is the institution’s decision, and a provider who guarantees it is guessing. We give you the document checklist before you apply so there are no surprises.

Can I use a New York virtual address as my LLC’s business address?

Yes. A NoMad address is a real street address in Manhattan and can be listed as the business address on a New York LLC or corporation filing, or on the paperwork for an entity formed in another state or country that operates from New York. It keeps your home address off the public record.

The address is formatted with a PMB number, which is what the Postal Service requires for a mailbox address. Writing “Suite” on a mailbox address is a common trick in this industry and a bad one: the CMRA registration is visible to banks regardless, so the mislabel buys nothing and costs credibility. Our mailbox addresses say PMB; our Verify customers get a suite number because they have a suite.

One thing the address does not replace is a registered agent. New York’s Secretary of State is the default agent for every LLC, and many businesses appoint a private agent as well so legal service is not lost in the post. You can add one to any plan from a low monthly rate.

Do I need a New York registered agent, and is that the same as a mailbox?

They are different things. In New York, the Secretary of State automatically serves as agent for service of process on every LLC and corporation, so appointing a separate registered agent is optional. Many companies do it anyway, because service delivered to the state is forwarded by ordinary mail to the address on file, and a missed envelope can mean a missed deadline.

A registered agent accepts legal papers at a physical New York address during business hours. A virtual mailbox receives everything else: bank correspondence, IRS notices, client documents, packages. Our NoMad mail center is not a registered-agent office and is not sold as one.

You can add a New York registered agent to any Virtual Mail Hub plan from a low monthly rate, and it is included on the Verify plan, so an entity’s legal service and its ordinary mail sit in one dashboard with one login. If you already have an agent, the mailbox works alongside them.

How does mail forwarding from New York work?

Every item that arrives on Broadway is photographed the same day, so you decide from your phone what happens next: open and scan it, forward it, deposit it if it is a check, or shred it. Nothing is forwarded automatically and nothing is destroyed without your consent.

Most mail never needs to move. A client letter or a bank statement is answered by a scan, which is timestamped and archived. Originals such as bank cards, signed contracts, or court papers are the usual reasons to forward; we quote the postage first and ship on your approval, anywhere in the US or abroad.

For a founder running a New York company from another country, the useful part is that time zones stop mattering: the scan is waiting when you wake up, and the original follows only when you ask. Forwarding is available on every plan; the included handling differs by tier, and the plan table on this page comes from our live catalogue.

Service-of-process statements describe New York Limited Liability Company Law and Business Corporation Law as of September 2026 and are not legal advice. Bank address requirements are set by each institution under federal KYC rules. Mailbox rules: USPS Domestic Mail Manual 508.1.8 and PS Form 1583.
